Achieving You is not just a gym, we’re a fitness community. Along with personal training and group classes, we run fitness challenge programs and running events all throughout the year.
We don’t just love to exercise together; we have regular social activities and fundraising events, so you can celebrate your health and fitness achievements with your workout buddies.
Our challenges take place at our fitness centre in Kedron and you can also incorporate them into your home workout.
So, whether you’re new to exercise, recovering from an injury or just need that extra boost to your exercise routine, Achieving You has the fitness challenge that’s right for you.
During the challenges, our personal trainers will guide you through your health and fitness goals. So, whether it be weight loss, strength to improve posture or back pain, or improve your times at your running group, our community fitness club has you covered.

TRANSFORMATION PROGRAM – 8 week challenge
Are you wanting to get rid of the dieting cycle?

Kick the year off with a consistent routine that will:

Beginner Runner Starter Pack
Are you wanting to start running, but don’t know where to start?
8 week running program

This fitness challenge is for you.
Are you already running and want to compete in a 5km, 10km or half marathon?
This fitness challenge is for you.
At Achieving You, we personalize our running programs to suit your level of experience and your fitness goals.
And each year we select a different race to complete in. In 2024 we will be doing Gold Coast which is on the weekend of 6 + 7 July.
Each week we will gradually build upon all areas of running training, including skills, distance and pace, while incorporating essential strengthening exercises to create strong legs for efficient running.
What’s included:
- A personalised running plan
- A speed session
- A strength & power session
Our running program focuses on building a solid foundation with running to avoid injuries, so you can keep running.
So, whether you want to run for fitness, fun or to compete, our running program can get you there. We also have a dedicated Run Club you can join.

8 Week Strength Challenge
8 Weeks solely focused on building your strength to the next level whilst reducing body fat percentage.
Resistance training is by far the best way to maintain a healthy body weight and increase your metabolism. The challenge always provides a different style of training to your normal to shock the body and therefore create faster results.
This program helps to:
- Create a lean body without getting huge
- Improve your posture
- Change your current style of training to push through plateaus
Suitable for beginners through to intermediate lifters.

RUNNING EVENTS
Running events for 2024
Group training has never been as fun as this!

Throughout the year we have various in-house race days to provide fun and a different focus of training for the group. This keeps everyone’s fitness at it’s highest and keeps the group having fun together.
Saturday 20 January
“The Dave”
To celebrate Dave’s birthday, we will run a lap around Mt Coo-tha (or a shorter loop if that’s not for you) and then have breakfast at Pitch + Fork, Toowong.
Saturday 17 February
Team relay at Arana Hills
A team event to challenge you at your endurance and speed levels. It’s fun because you get to work in teams of 3 and everyone supports each other. For 90 min we do laps around the oval at Arana Hills, the team with the most laps wins!
Saturday 23 March
Arana Hills Stair challenge
There is a great set of stairs just behind the Arana Hills Library with approx. 120 stairs. Training for the stair run is a great way to increase the cardiovascular system through hill sprints and interval training. Also a great way to build strong muscles whilst reducing body fat percentage. This is an individual event to see how many laps you can get out in 50min.
Tuesday 25 April
ANZAC Day relay run
Hosted by “The Relays” crew, this event is held at the Criterium track in Nundah, which is a 1.2km loop and in teams of between 3-5 people, the object is to do an many laps as possible in 90min. It’s our annual event to support this event and a great afternoon to hang with our running friends.
Monday 13 May
8 Week Running Program starts
This 8 week program will consist of a personalised running program, a power session and 2 running sessions (Wed 6pm + Sat 6am). It is open to beginners and intermediate runners aiming to hit 10km or 21.1km. The program leads up to Gold Coast on 4 July.
Saturday 8 June
At Jinker Track, we replicate the famous Backyard Dash event. There are 2 categories – 25min + 21min. The aim of the game is to complete 3km every 25min or 21min until either you decided to stop or you reach the max distance available which is 18km. This is one of the most successful events we hold each year because everyone ends up running more distance than they normally do. An individual event aimed at increasing your endurance. Available for beginners, intermediate or advanced runners.
Saturday and Sunday 4 + 5 July
Gold Coast 10km + Half marathon
Our 8 week running program leads up to this event. You are welcome to do the program without signing up for the event as you will still gain lots of new skills, additional running strength + power for your own running. The Gold Coast is a great local event to compete in and it’s been a few years since we have done this one, so it’s time to get it back on our calendar.

Our annual Mailmans Track loop is a fun in house event to push those endurance levels. There is a 9km, 12km and 16km option. Great views of Samford as we head over Mailmans Track. This one kicks off a little earlier than usual to beat the heat and get a head start on the day. We leave Jinker Track at 5:45am.
October date TBA
We revisit the Backyard Dash event at Jinker Track because it’s a fun way to keep the kms up and have fun.
From November to end of January
Each year, we hit the trails because it’s cooler in the shade and it’s something different. It’s nice to wind down the year with relaxing trail running in Bunya.
Our final run for the year!
We always finish our final Saturday run at Regatta and run along the river and into Southbank. It’s such a beautiful spot to run so the final Saturdya of each year we have coffee and cake at Regatta.

Hidden Bars Tour
These are the best nights!
Each year we have our annual hidden bars tour and it’s always open to bringing your partner because ….. well we are just fun to hang around!
Date: Saturday 23 March
Start time: 5:00PM
I will announce the meeting point closer to the date, and everyone will meet at 5pm for their first drink. From there, it’s all a secret! I have 3 hidden bars organised and the locations are secret from the group. It is one of our most fun nights out! The bars are all within close walking distance of each other (so you can still wear heels!) and then we will finish at another secret location for dinner around 8pm.
